What are the best physical exercises for asthmatics?

Anyone with asthma knows that exercising can trigger an attack. However, doctors recommend this practice to maintain good health. So what are the best physical exercises for asthmatics? With proper care and treatment, asthmatics can move their bodies in a variety of ways.

Most people who have poorly controlled asthma can experience flare-ups while exercising. In this case, the disease is called exercise-induced asthma (or EIA), and the most common signs are:

  • Cough;
  • Wheezing;
  • Shortness of breath;
  • Chest pain or tightness;
  • Tiredness.

People with EIA are usually quite sensitive to changes in temperature and dry air. This is because, during exercise, the amount of air inhaled significantly increases. At this point, a certain amount of dry, cold air comes into contact with the lungs, which triggers the first symptoms of an asthma attack.

There are two types of medications that help prevent attacks and allow asthmatics to exercise:

Bronchodilators  – open the airway and relax the muscles. Short-term ones should be taken 15 to 20 minutes before exercise, and long-acting ones, which work for up to 12 hours, must be taken an hour beforehand.

Anti-inflammatory anti-asthmatic medications  – are used to prevent swelling of the airways. They are usually taken regularly to control asthma, and because of this, they are called “control medications”.

There are no physical exercises for specific asthmatics, and there are no exercises that should be avoided. Asthmatics should be a little more careful with more intense exercises, such as soccer and long-distance running because they can increase the chances of an attack. But this type of exercise should not be avoided for that reason. The physical exercises indicated for asthmatics are:

Swimming: by being in the pool, practitioners have contact with more humid air. This prevents the asthma attack trigger from being activated;

Walking and cycling: aerobic exercise for asthmatics is the best option. That’s because they’re less intense than a long-distance run, for example, and they help regulate airflow in the lungs;

Bodybuilding: Asthma and bodybuilding, contrary to what many people imagine, is not an explosive combination. This is because weight training does not require as much effort from the bronchial tubes as aerobic exercise.

The first occurrence of sores caused by genital herpes usually manifests itself within 10 to 15 days. It is characterized by the appearance of blisters in the genital region, which then break and turn into small wounds until they disappear.

Some symptoms noticeable before the appearance of blisters are itchiness, redness, burning, and even tingling.

Another important feature of genital herpes is that its symptoms can reappear more or less frequently for years, depending on the individual and their immunity. Exaggerated exposure to the sun, physical or emotional stress, and tiredness are some of the factors that can trigger and contribute to the reappearance of wounds.
